The first zine brief

Today’s the day!!! I’ve been busy all week and my dreams have been just as hectic and my thoughts have been all over the place. With all this in mind it got me thinking of the theme for this first brief.

This week has been all about them from physical dreaming to figuring out where you want to be in the future. This theme can be interpreted  in so many ways. We can look at how it’s been shown in other artists work from Salvador Dali to Edvard Munch. It takes place in media through photographers, directors, musicians and writers. Most of all it is viewed in everyday life.

Dreams are those things that drive us. They begin when we’re so small, when we get asked ‘what do you want to be when you’re older’. They continue to keep us on track or bring us back when we’ve lost our way. They are not just images that happen when you sleep.

The physical side of dreaming is psychological and can be as crazy, scary, sweet or as sexy as can be. Some are made from fantasies and some are just random. But dreams are part of you. They can be different from one person to the other.

So….. That’s where you come in.

I want as many creatives to come together as possible. I would love you to take this theme of ‘dreams’ and let it inspire you. Create something in whatever medium you can. It could be art, photography, sculpture, written…. Whatever. The only guideline;

I need the piece in digital form as a jpeg at 300dpi or as a word document on the deadline date: 1st July 2016 with a link to your portfolio and social media. Please send it to with the subject ‘zine’.

Outcome: I will be producing an online magazine where I will publish your pieces alongside your portfolio links. The online magazine will then be published on the 1st August.

So are you interested?

Thanks again for reading and I hope to hear from you 🙂
