An Early Birthday Present

I’ve always been a little wary and intrigued about drawing tablets (please excuse my oxymoron) Loving the feel of hand drawn images rather than digital, but after much thought, practice of stop motion animation and watching some exciting animation videos like the one below. I finally decided I’d like to give this a go.

So yesterday after such an awful day, Jamie presented me with an early birthday present. This beautiful Wacom drawing tablet.

I couldn’t wait to use it and spent an hour or so just playing around with different materials and trying to get my bearings of not drawing on paper. Here’s my experiment.

first attempt

I’ve decided to keep my artwork hand drawn as I love the way it already feels but will be using this tablet for projects such as iron mouse, short animations and photoshop details.

I was surprised how easy it was to use and how light the tablet was. Perfect to take away with me if I have any more adventures. I can’t wait to get started on these other projects.

I’d love to hear any tips you have.

Thanks again for reading.
