Wow! It’s been a while since I wrote a post but with some new work appearing on my social media accounts I thought I’d let you know what’s been going on. I’ve recently started illustrating for a new upcoming lingerie company called Peekatyou.
Peekatyou is an upcoming lingerie brand which is hoping to bring vintage style lingerie and geeky patterns together for the pinup/ gamer girls out there. There aim is to make their products sustainable and as eco-friendly as possible whilst still bringing comfort and a unique style to their garments.
The first image I was asked to create was the logo. Whilst Peekatyou sounds very much like Pikachu but with a cheeky vintage feel. I decided that Pokemon was the first step for the brand. Taking a peek at roses and their femininity, I decided to mix them both together to produce the logo below.
Peekatyou decided this was the perfect theme for their first collection and asked me to design four patterns related to this. The first was this logo replicated to make their first pattern.
The second pattern I looked into Art Nouveau and took inspiration from the floral imagery. Using Bulbasaur as my base I created this next pattern.
The third pattern I took inspiration from Squirtle and designed the well known turtle shell with the blue bubbles for softness.
The fourth pattern was the traditional black piece. I wanted a Pikachu pattern which would show up bright and contrast against the dark fabric to show of the electricity and spark of the creature.
Once the patterns were done. Peekatyou sent me their designs so I could Illustrate them on a model. Here are the final designs for the front of the garments.
I can’t wait to see the outcome of these garments and how the patterns will be transferred onto sustainable fabric. I will definitely be grabbing a few for myself. I look forward to working on more collections with this brand.
Thanks again for reading.
